Nicolas Cloiseau, chef at La Maison du Chocolat, and Benjamin Kuentz, French whisky editor, have combined their expertise to create an unusual product: a chocolate bar with an intense whisky flavour using an original maturing process.
This product is strictly reserved for adults over the age of 18.
It is by choosing to mature liquid chocolate for several weeks in oak casks that the Alchemie chocolate bar becomes impregnated with the taste of the whisky imprinted in the wood. The chocolate is poured hot into a cask that has just been emptied of its whisky, and as it comes into contact with the wood, it absorbs its aromas and takes on the aromatic strength of the spirit.
Echoing the smoky taste of Benjamin Kuentz's whisky, Nicolas Cloiseau blends the spicy temperament of cocoa from the island of Grenada with the woody nature of Ecuador. Two pure cocoa origins give this whisky a character all its own. On the palate, there's a powerful, tangy flavour of velvety dark chocolate with notes of citrus fruit and a whisky-like impression.
Our two designers have created this innovation with the firm intention of shaking up the codes of chocolate-spirit combinations. In tune with the times, they believe in this new alcohol-free* chocolate whisky imprint.
