Let yourself indulge in chocolate this festive season

If you really love to embrace everything chocolate at Christmastime, then why not enjoy your chocolate with something from our Christmas chocolate gift baskets or even a Christmas assorted chocolate selection. This Christmas hot chocolate is the perfect way to start the day, and you can enjoy it with your morning chocolate from your luxury advent calendar, or with a variety of other Christmas chocolate gifts. The shorter days mean it gets dark much earlier in many places. Whether you’re huddling around a fire pit, telling stories and trying to keep warm with friends, or relaxing with a classic Christmas movie with the kids, a Christmas hot chocolate is going to be something everyone remembers. Don’t just make a hot chocolate this holiday season, make sweet memories with the ones you love.

Create your own twist on the classic hot chocolate

Ever since chocolate made its way to Europe in the early 18th century, people have been creating their own unique versions with a selection of ingredients and flavors. That’s what’s so great about our Christmas hot chocolate as it can be enhanced any way you like with your own ideas. You can swap out the milk for a dairy free option, replace the sugar for a small spoon of honey or an agave syrup, or even choose to replicate the candy cane flavor with a few drops of peppermint when cooking it. If you love a tipple in your hot chocolate, there’s no reason why you can’t add a touch of Cognac or Armagnac for a French flair, or a Baileys to enrich the creaminess. Amaretto is another great option to bring an almond sweetness, and you can add Cointreau with some candied orange peel for a delicious fruity alternative. For a French mocha-style hot chocolate, you can add a shot of strong espresso and serve with a crunchy cookie on the side. It’s totally up to you how you add extra ingredients, and one of the most popular ways is to sweeten the topping with a scattering of marshmallows.
