La Maison du Chocolat has traveled to all four corners of the globe to find truly exceptional cocoa beans. Featuring plain dark chocolate ganaches, this collection boasts a truly unique composition. Its chocolates are made with some of the finest and rarest cocoa beans in the world. These chocolates' impressive mouthfeel, mahogany brown color, and particularly delicate structure are characteristic of these incredible beans. The Tamanaco collection pays homage to five countries which are home to some of the best cocoa producers: Venezuela, Madagascar, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Ghana.

    La Maison du Chocolat has carefully orchestrated this cacaos journey to reveal the richness of each of these grands crus.

    We recommend the following for your tasting:

    - Cut your chocolate in two, smell it, and taste the first half to acclimate your palate. Taste the second half to articulate the sensations.

    - Drink some water between chocolates to rinse away any lingering flavours.

    - Chocolate reveals its flavours best at a temperature close to 20°C (68°F). If you have stored your coffret at the recommended temperatures of 12 to 15°C (53°F to 59°F), place your coffret at room temperature 30 minutes before embarking on your CACAOS journey.

Craftsmanship and internal ingenuity

Just like wine, there are endless varieties of cocoa beans, with as many aromatic subtleties as there are regions.
Tamanaco was initially inspired by an internal competition at La Maison du Chocolat in early 2000, which aimed to unleash chocolatiers' creativity to create a new collection. This competition was won convincingly by Nicolas Cloiseau and Nicolas Trombetta. Their idea of a collection of ganache truffles made with pure raw cocoa contrasted strongly with the brand's focus on the art of blending different chocolates. Together, these two men suggested an exception to the rule. They chose a single variety from 5 countries renowned for their cocoa beans. Just like a gourmet world tour, these beans are used to create distinctive ganache which convey the quintessential nature and beauty of each region. 20 years later, this Tamanaco Collection has been updated by Nicolas Cloiseau (now La Maison du Chocolat's chef and holder of the prestigious title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France) and continues to amaze, made with the finest aromatic dark chocolate in the world.
